Does the compound radius make it easier to bend up the high E string between the 5th and 12th frets? And does it give your fingers more room between the strings above the 12th fret? I currently have an ADE Strat with a 9.5" radius and wonder if changing the neck to a compound radius will make it easier to play.

Does not change the string spacing at all.

On most compound radii FBs, the radius doesn't usually start to flatten out noticably until the 12th fret.

That's how it is on my American Deluxe Ash anyway.

cheers!

I would suggest to go to a guitar store and try a few out that use the compound radius. What feels "easier to play" to one, might not to another and hence why different profiles, radiuses (or "radii"), and thicknesses exist.
