yes,
A friend of mine had mix gauge but i remember his first was .011.
I don't remember if he had heavier lows or regular.

The LSR nut's frame's string clearance slots will accept string guages from .008" to .056" without touching the strings. The strings only contact is with the two steel balls. the steel balls accomodate and center automatically the guages .008"-.056".

I don't agree.. I have the am deluxe hss with the LSR roller nut.
Came with 9's.. then I changed them to 11, but especially the 2 thickest strings will sort of float over it, they just don't fit.
So I went back to 9's.. everythings ok now, liked the 11 by sound though.. too bad!

I'd say be VERY careful.

I've seen many LSR nuts having problems accomodating 11 (or heavier) gauge strings in their slots. Specifically, the slots had to be filed wider so the strings would fit in them. I've also seen several LSR nuts where the string tension from 11 (or heavier) gauge sets crushed some or all of the bearings in the LSR to an elliptical shape. Consequently, the bearings were no longer round and could no longer do what they were intended for.

I wouldn't go beyond 10s and even at that, I'd be very careful about avoiding a stiffer tension or stainless steel set.

My info about a lot of guitar repair comes from books I have from an expert named Dan Erlewine(Guitar player repair guide) and Hideo Kamimoto(Complete guitar repair). I also have 30 years of playing and repair experience myself. I have found both authors to be very helpful in all aspect of repair and set up. If Dan Erlewine says it is so, I tend to beleive it. Nobody is right all the time, in all situation, so your experience may be different.
