Hello,

I acquired a new 2014 American Standard Stratocaster, and the volume pot has something like a springy noise when o turn it, but its only like a mechanical noise, it doesn't reflect on any noise on the sound.

Is this normal on that kind of Pots?

Thanks in advance

Never heard of that but if no one here has a definitive answer go to a music store that sells new strats and see if the rest of them do it also.

Defective pot.

The wiper arm is chafing on the wafer. It will grow progressively worse until the shaft ultimately seizes, preventing any measure of control whatsoever. Have it replaced, and soon.

Hi Guys!

Thanks a lot for the help.

But it was a really stupid thing, it was the plastic that protects the acrylic that was making the noise.

The guitar is completely perfect :)

It seems human nature for some to overlook the simplest cause and assume the worst. Glad it was a simple fix.

Yep. Or like I sometimes see in my other field where people replace expensive products and overlook a bad fuse or fuse holder, or replace an entire starter motor when it was only corrosion at the battery terminals.

+1 and it is getting worse. Many young folks nowadays can't find their arse with a flashlight and two hands! They sit around waiting for someone else to tell them where it is at!

My daughter got a flat a few days ago. Her boyfriend who is 35 had never changed a flat before and didn't know what to do. Gave me a chuckle.

So you loaned them a jack and a 4-way lug wrench then told them to get to work......?
