We see a lot of scams here so I think that is why some are so skeptical. As well some members have been ripped off before being sold something that ended up not being what they thought. Of course you are welcome to the forum and most here volunteer their time to help others and answer any question. As well some can be quite sarcastic but try not to take it personal, we all share the same love for Fenders and music in general.

As far as the exact year of your guitar the serial number in itself seems to indicate a 69 or a 70 depending on the database..both good years. For a better way to narrow it down will require disassembly. The neck heel if legit and readable will give the month and year. The pots as well if original will have the year within a number stamped on them. Sometimes the neck pocket can give a clue but there was not any changes to the body from 69 to 70 that I would know of that can distinguish so generally other then going by the SN on the plate just call those 67-71 bodies (all had the squared off pup routes and 4 bolt neck).

EDIT: Also the pickups if original should be dated if readable but I have read that from time to time can be a year off.

truetribe54: Sorry, but this is all about communication. In all honesty if you had put all the information in your original post (including the photos) then this would not have escalated as it did. You of course have provenance of this one as the second owner - about all you don't know is the original year since you bought it in 1974. Frankly the best way to figure that out would be to remove the neck and see if any date stamps are still legible after the refinish you had done in 1976 to figure out if it is a 1969 or a 1970.

Seriously - we've had people post "I have a Strat, serial number 210756" and when they post photos it's a 1992 American Standard and the poster will say "Oh - did I need to include that "N" with the serial number? The serial number is really N210756?".

So, you start yet another thread? That makes four about the same freakin' guitar. One with poor pictures that lack any real detail.
