Hey guys, that's my first post here, so pardon my mistakes. i don't know if the pictures show up. the price is really low around 350$. there is a serial number as you can hopefully see that starts with N6xxxxxx which means that it was manufactured in the Corona plant around 1996, but there is no "made in USA" decal, or any any other "made in ..." decal (at least in the photos). as for the fender logo it seems to be totally black (i've only seen the photos too). the tuners are weird shaped (that right-hand bottom screw) and i can see no inlay on the truss rod.i spoke with the guy and told me that this is a project thing of his and that be bought it without pickups in the UK and he thinks that is a japanese 1994 made model. but the japanese 1994 serials are N+6digits and this one is N+7digits.
i'm really new to this crazy fender world, this would actually be my first Fender, so in your eyes it may be a really bad copy but i'm still confused. ANY HELP PLEASE? Thanks in advance!
Chears folks!

I'm not an authority on strats by any stretch, but I do know that if I have a lot of questions about the authenticity of something I wouldn't buy it because I'd always wonder..

And you have a lot of questions.

I strongly suspect that is counterfeit, probably China. That does not mean it is necessarily junk but it most likely is not a Fender and does not seem to be Japan, definitely not USA. Would need more pics with the neck off and pick guard off to even have a chance to appraise it. $350 is NOT low for that one...$50 would be.

Fake all day. The list:
Front neck decal did not come on this guitar.
Neck appears to be a Squier
Pickups appear to be flush again as in Squier
Those are not tuners used on US or Japanese guitars I am aware of.
The finish also appears to be Squier.
Even the serial numbers font does not appear correct.

Avoid this guitar at all costs.

Agree..at best that guitar is a Korean or Chinese Squier with a bogus decal and SN.

Thank you so much guys! That was my guess too but, you know, the hope of an opportunity can be misleading! I 'd love to hear what else you see on this guitar! Purely for educational reasons...

The decal looks black rather than metallic, the truss rod cavity doesn't have any plug, the finish is wrong, the pickups, the tuners, everything is wrong. It's a cheap Charlie done up to look vaguely Fender-ish. Save your money.

Not much more could be said without more pics and with it taken apart.

Look how close the bottom of the decal is to the edge of the headstock, the guy's not even stuck it on right.

There's a lot of "fake or not" posts on this forum, stay tuned and you'll see the similarities, as well as something different about each one.

Thanks to Fender's well deserved popularity and wide variety of models, the fun never stops.

Just pass that one by and feel free to post another possible "Buy".

one other thing I noticed it appears what looks like a bit of extra lacquer spray on the curve below the truss rod opening.

It's as phony as Taylor Swift's alleged talent.

Careful what you say about Ms Swift, you might hurt her feelings, and she'll write a song about it and make another billion dollars.......

And no one wants that now do we.....

Taylor Swift has as much significance to me as the size, shape, color, and consistency of my turds. I couldn't give a damn what she does or how much money she has. And unlike her voice, my guitar playing doesn't require auto-tune to sound palatable.
