Hello to everyone. I've got 2004 Fender USA Standard Stratocaster. I want to ask that is fender biflex truss rod "nut" changable? I searched forums, some said it is welded and some said it can be removed simply with stewmac gripper truss rod wrench. I'm confused.

Ouch.

Do you mean the threads are stripped? Or the hex key slot on the adjuster?

Make certain that the allen wrench is fully seated, if not, it will slip !

I suspect your allen wrench may not be long enough.

cheers!

Your suspect is completely wrong. I already use genunine long-leg 1/8" fender allen key and i've got 15 guitar. I also interested with guitar repair. My question is very clear. I don't ask that may it be stripped.

I mean the nut is nearly rounded and there are no corner for allen key to grap it.

I've already changed truss-rod's nut many times except bi-flex truss rod. Because some of them are welded(carvin biflex) and some is not. If you or others have got enough experiences, i'm happy to hear it. Thanks!

Stewmac gripper is not to remove truss rod nut ( it probably can like any allen wrench when nut is ok ) it is to turn the nut to make truss rod adjustment when your nut is damaged .

To remove nut you need to remove the dark wood plug too.

Nope! Gripper truss rod is produced and definetly for remove damaged nut surely if the the truss rod is not broken! You may pull it with allen wrench if it can still grab it a little.

If the nut is stripped, stewmac gripper grab perfectly, you can loosen and pull it. I think the video is clear.

I already know how it can be done. My concern is not these. I know how i should pull wooden plug. The other video you send it. I watched it 20 times for last year for my first attempt.

All my asking is "is the nut welded to truss or not" It can be removed or not? Do you know it or not?

Maybe you should have watched it 21 times before you started with the attitude.

Really? I think you should watched the video very very carefully. Is it regular Fender USA Standard? Really? Are you sure?

Did you realise that it was E4 serial and it was made in probably Japan although he said it was American made, but it is not regular FMIC design. I hope you know controversial years. There are no regular USA made guitar in 1984 to 1987 because of CBS and all the biflex truss rod designs are different after 90s. Because FMIC buy Fender. Even 95 USA and 2009 USA Fender STD are not same design guitars. Most USA Deluxe Fender has got biflex truss rod but it is slightly different design from STD USA, i know it because i repaced them.

I especially asked after 2000 term. In short, are there anyone know truss rod designs year to year very(very very) well?

First thing the guy says is "this is the neck off my 1988 Fender American Standard".

I own two 1980s US Strats with E serial numbers. The truss rods are identical to the one in that video. They are also identical on both of my 2005 Strats. None of the nuts are welded to the truss rods.

I don't see the relevance of the 1984 to 1987 truss rod designs when he says it's a 1988 guitar.

Maybe you should have watched the video 22 times before you started with the attitude.
