I have 2 1/16" string spacing, 6-screw vintage bridge on my guitar and it needs replacement due to wear. I may go to a 2 1/8" string spacing tremolo. (Different in overall spacing is 0.0625".) I assume they are used on some Strats (ie 2-post tremolo) and are OK for Strat necks (ie. 1st and 6th strings wrt edge of fretbords)? I have narrow Dimarzio bridge HB which I may have to change to F-space HB (ie. wider). I'm getting a custom neck and will have 1.65" nut (41.85mm) - average size nut.

A 2 1/8 spacing should be fine with Fender necks but of course if the nut is to widely spaced/off center, or the neck is misaligned you could have problems with E string "run-off".

What do/did the 2-post Strats have for string-spacing? And the Deluxe USA model?
(I know about alignment after my first install and going to take my time on the next one. Almost got it perfect the first time.)
What spacing do Gibsons, Ibanez, ESP have?

All American Fender Strats are 2- 7/32" regardless if 2 post or not. As far as Gibson I believe they are all approx 2- 1/16" if tune-o-matic bridge and nothing else special or odd. As far as Ibanez and ESP I have no idea. Maybe they have forums you could ask on?

Actually American standards, Deluxes and specials have narrower string spacing. The special has a hybrid vintage wide mount narrow string spacing bridge.

+1

AFAIK, the only MIA Strats still using the vintage-spec bridges are the AVS, the now-discontinued AVRI, and those artist signature models based on a vintage-spec Strat.
