Is the American Deluxe Stratocaster S1/Volume Knob removal, the same as any other Knob?
Just pull up on it and that is it?
Need to remove some clear film from the pick guard, caught under the knobs.

Unless you see a set screw on it...that would be the only way...just carefully pull off like any other knob. When knobs are tight I use something like this

which is a plastic panel removal tool. Just make sure if you have to pry that you pry straight up and not on an angle which can snap the pot shaft or break the knob...which can break anyhow if it is on there too tight.

You need to carefully push the center button plug in on one side (at the edge) until it "tips" out of position then lift it out with a pair of tweezers. Use caution or you'll damage the lock nub that holds it within the knob. Once the switch button is removed the volume knob comes off in the conventional manner.

Here's a Y/T video that explains the switch in detail......

The S1 Volume knob is just a compression fit on a splined shaft just like an ordinary pot.

But the knob is two-part w/ the center Volume button 'keyed' to fit into the knob with a specific orientation.

Carefully work the entire knob off the shaft as you would any other Strat knob, no need to remove the center first.

see:

cheers!

Yep the whole lot will come off in one go.
Good video!
Take care putting it back on though.
You do not want to break either of the plastic prongs on the inner cap.
I generally seat the outer then carefully insert the inner. :D

I brought this back up in case anyone has any questions as I did about the S1 switch built into the volume control. I was afraid to remove the knob without some instuction. There is a couple of good videos here. :D
