I have purchased 2 fender vintage noiseless pickups to install in my high way 1... I was just wondering if the stock humbucker on this guitar would correspond well with the 2 fender vint. pickups, volume and sound etc. If these pickups don't work well together, what sort of humbucker goes well with the vintage noiseless pickups?

It's really more a matter of making sure the pickup height on the new pups is right. To make sure the humbucker doesn't overpower the new middle pup you'll have to adjust the height of them to make sure they work well together.

Remember the higher you put the pup, the more distortion and less sustain you'll get. It'll take some tweaking, probably over a little time to get it where you want it.

Hmm more breakup or sustain... :?
I suppose I could set the pickup in between, if you play the strings harder it will break up more too.

I think with the vintage noiseless pups you'll have to change the pots (which should be included), but that won't affect the humbucker unless you have it wired to a tone control.

You might have a problem. My Highway One HSS is wired up so that when you select the bridge and middle pickups, it uses only one coil of the humbucker. That might not work so well with a noiseless pickup in the middle.

The fix is simple, I guess, just wire the bridge humbucker into the switch in the "normal" way.
