So I received an SKB i-series injection molded case for the strat, and was dismayed to observe some wobble when the strat is resting in the case, as if my guitar was warped (it is not). More concerning is the fact that the neck doesn't seem to be supported all the way down the cradle, and I'm afraid pressure on the headstock may exacerbate things. These symptoms are moderately minimized with the creative use of towels, but still apparent. I
am taking this strat to Europe this summer for tour, and was wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar with this case.
Considering returning it and investing in a Battlecase with an actual Pelican case and custom foam insert.

Unless you want to pay megabucks for top ATA cases,
this one should work for you with a good fit:

I think that would be heavier than a PRS case, not necessarily something I'd want to lug through an airport.
Check to ensure you have the CORRECT SKB case for your strat, not the one for the PRS CU24.
Some of my Fender/SKB cases have been to Germany and Afghanistan, no issues with the guitars. True, I did ship them in boxes but a plane is a plane is a plane. You could use DHL and ship it to your destination early or just check the SKB case at the gate like a lot of flyers do. Again, ensure you have the correct SKB case. The ones supplied with the Strat (1SKB-66PRO) are made specifically for Fender, the ones for "Strat/Tele style guitars" (3i-4214-66) are slightly generic.
