A new Clapton song was released today along with a video. It is a tribute to J. J. Cale. I am pretty sure if I saw Eric hitch hiking I would pick him up and take him to Escondido also. Eric shows his feelings towards J. J. and has some wonderful things to say about J. J. as well as some great old footage of the two of them together.

I miss you also J. J.

Thanks for sharing that. I had always thought that song was written by Skynyrd. We learn something new every day here. Has far as picking up Clapton hitchhiking...if he looked like he did in that video and I did not recognize it was actually him, I might have passed. But if I knew it was him and had a chance to pick him up...my life would have been fulfilled and you can kill me now...well maybe not that extreme unless he said we could jam for a few hours after the trip.

Some of the songs from that album are featured on the 2014 tour's setlist.

Currently Eric has only 1 show remaining before definitely hanging up his guitar.

I don't think he'll really be calling it quits.

I agree, but apparently it will be all one off shows. No more touring. I can really kick myself for not going to New Orleans a couple months ago to see him one last time.

One of my favorites by JJ Cale. I would guess that the author of 'Cocaine' and "After Midnight' was not thought to be Cale either. Clapton's actual tribute to JJ Cale was written years ago..."Lay Down Sally'.
