Hard tail
h.h.
body color matched large headstock.
Compound radius.
Built in n'tune type tuner system.
On board chorus, delay, distortion.
(Push pull pots for tuner and fx.)
Under a grand.
I'd buy 2 of them tomorrow and sell 8 of my 10 others.

I'm guessing this was meant to be a reply in the "Fender guitar of your dreams" thread?

They could do it in a squire for that. 8)

However I am not too keen on a tuner and all those effects built into the guitar. But it would be nice if Fender offered more hardtail versions which have always been my fav. I have to scour eBay for good deals on Cray bodies to build any these days if I want to keep it Fender.

I think not. Too extensive a custom design and manufacture for the Squier line.

How much would it cost to staple a few picks to the body?

Staples are a no-brainer. It's the custom designed electronics he's interested in as well as the body routing which might be required to install such an sophisticated on-board system. The VG Strat, and the new Strat Plus are examples of such requirements. These costs are likely beyond Squier limits and the price point desired.

I'd just like to see more hard tail options for Strats, even if the pricing were adjusted just for not having a trem.

There have been some custom Strats from Fender with a hard tail/locked down trem, but it's not available as a general option, and I agree that it should be.
Lots of players lock the trems so I just don't get Fender's reluctance to not offer a factory hard tail with a great all in one tail/bridge.
PRS has a great design for some of their guitars.

When I first got my '91 Strat I used the trem for about a couple of years, but it was too finicky for gigging so I locked it down and it stayed that way until around a couple of months ago. I have other guitars for the aggressive playing stuff so I released the Strat's trem and set it back up. Very nice to have it functional again.
Since I no longer gig I'm not worried about it being finicky. It's actually been staying in tune pretty well, but then I don't play it very aggressively.

Hard tail option, or a quick and solid way to switch between trem and lock would be awesome. :)

Jazzmasters and Jaguars have locking trems. There are some non-trem signature Strats as well. If the hardtail Strats had been in demand, they would have remained in the line. Obviously, it didn't play out that way.
