I hesitate to get drawn into this chatter again...but I will note some thought I consider valid:

The mechanical quality of switches/pots/jacks installed in the low-cost, Asian-made guitars is significantly lower than what you get on a USA model. They will not stand up to professional use.

Tone is tone, and it is always a tough discussion, and I feel that Fender does an admirable job suppling inexpensive ceramic pickups, but they will never have the shine/brilliance/dynamics that you will get from those that simply cost more to make.

i would put my affinity or starcaster against anything. its more in the talent anyway than minor differences in body thickness.

Yes, it is summer vacation once again and the kiddies have come to play.

"ANY REAL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AMERICAN STRAT AND AFFINITY STRAT?"

Well other then the wood quality and type, the neck, neck joint thickness, truss rod, body, routes, tuners, nut, frets, fret job, craftsmanship and manufacturing methods, pickups, pots, switches, bridge and saddles etc. ... they are exactly the same.

Smoke and mirrors. Both my guitars have truss rods. All the switches, pots, and other hardware work as desired. Todays cheepest guitars are miles better than those sold in the 50s and 60s for lots of money back then.
Save your money and concentrate on becoming talented instead.

…and he comes back with extra nonsense and an inflammatory zinger to stir thing up.

Show us your talent and shut us all up.

Or shut up.

I got given one of these ages ago, a Teisco/Kent 4 pickup job in natural
It had a bound (really nice feeling) neck amazing tones and rarely went out of tune. The pickups used to sustain forever with a load of distortion. Wish I still had it but traded it in

I have played a first edition MIJ "Hendrix" strat in white (Beautiful quality and playability and interestingly only had the 3 way switch)
A 1974 black strat with active EMG's (also good to play and sounded brilliant )
A blonde? Squier silver series strat (really nice action, tremelo went out of tune though)
A red squier silver series (complete utter crap, lousy finishing all over from fretboard to tinny tuners )
A MIM strat (sorry but it was terrible, the finish on the fret edges was dog rough and the volume knob was bent )
A heavy relic black Telecaster (played fine, but looked completeley fake, the crazing on the body was awful)
A 1960 maple necked Esquire (that I could have bought for £45! back around 1965 ish)

It all depends on how well they were set up originally and who did the main set up on them to me, as pickups can be dialled in with a good effects unit (the one I use will combine 7 effects at once and I can have a Strat through a classic American amp, or a gibson through a Marshall (complete with simulated humbuckers)

Better an "aspiring musician" than a demonstrable assclown.

Shouldn't you be out in the garage, huffing some lighter fluid or Jet A?

Could this be the newest incarnation of "I don't get it" Nathan? :?:

Troll confirmed. He posts insults on a Fender forum and does not even know the difference between a USA Strat, an affinity or a starcaster LOL.

His local Walgreen's must have run out of Ritalin again and it's well past time to renew his prescription.
