I like it! Very different. Is the surface smooth, or can you feel the lines?

Nice job. It looks pretty interesting.

What do you think, Chet?? An interesting springboard for a contest sponsored by Fender, off the Forum. Lot's of talent out there.
Winner should get an all expenses paid trip to Fender University.

There is a clear finish over it to prevent the colored newspaper to fade.

I wonder if the clear coat really offers UV protection?

I'm thinking it doesn't because I've read that the neck wood will still yellow under the clear coats.

It's all an experiment. Let us know how it holds up.
It should be fine, unless you do a lot of outdoor gigs with it.

Which local scene would that be? :D I think there's more than one (depending on age group more than anything)...

I'm in a band but we're not gig-ready yet. In the fall.

That looks awesome. How does it play? Looks like it would be great for some heavier stuff, both "personality" and overall look wise and with the EMG pickups. Really cool stuff man.

You could call it my *lead* guitar. It's fast, real fast :D i still rock the blues and little heavier stuff but those emgs are versatile, impressed with their overall quality.
