i recently bought this strat and all i can say is love at first sight.i have a 2000
am.standard and i also have a 2005 american strat with the s-1 switch.i been
playing, since i was a kid in the sixties.the highway 1 has all the good features of feel and playability in a strat.i installed a shr 1 hot rail in the bridge position with a toggle switch.it screams in sustain and harmonics.i
can,t beleive how Fender produced such good guitars.i always was a strat man.Fender rules. :D

Any pics?

I have an "upgraded" Highway 1 and found the pickups to be good enough for me not to want to change them.

I have an '05 Hwy 1 that's been "tricked out" a little bit. Honey Blonde w/ Maple...and the finish is gorgeous. CS69s, Callaham Block, Graphtec saddles and nut. The neck on this guitar is very nice ! :!:

I myself can't quite really like the '03 Highway 1 I have...

Much happier myself with my 60th anniversary strat, sadly this one needs to be sent back to the dealer for repair...

i wouldn't want to switch the pickups either, it's very versatile. It's maybe not as hot as some other pickups, but it's extremely versatile.
