Hello. I need some help with my Strat as I am really confused. The body is Blizzard Pearl with a maple neck. It says it was made in 2011 in Mexico but the only ones I can find that match this description are anniversary ones (which have a different neck plate). The only other ones I can find are Usa models, but I that doesnt math up either.
I bought it second hand and it has what appears to be either rust (unlikely) or a huge amount of dirt in the screws and on the bridge. Any ideas about what it is would really be useful. Cheers, George :)

Hi Shimpa,

It looks like a Standard Strat, MIM, aka Mexican Standard.

+1

The Blizzard Pearl finish may indicate that the guitar was an FSR commissioned by one of the more influential retailers.

If your guitar does not have a case, it could indeed be rust.

There was a FSR just like this one of flea bay, so i would say it is one of those. Nice looking one.

I would suggest you do a string change and while the strings are off, a nice deep cleaning with Murphy's oil soap. Use some hardwood tooth picks to clean out the screwsheads. Spray down the fretboard and use the toothpicks along the frets to dig out any finger gunk.

Afterwords, spray it down with the polish of your choice.
