hope you can help!

i'm looking at a used strat in a shop, all looks to be in order.
Has a MX11 serial number meaning it is a mexican model made in 2011 or 2012.

it is a blizzard pearl colour with maple fretboard.
looking into mexican strats this doesn't seem to be a normal colour option other than on the 60th anniversary model.

it doesn't have a 60th anniversary neck plate.

Should I worry that this is a non standard colour or is it fine?

were they still making anniversary models in 2011?

Sounds like a Factory Special Run (FSR) commissioned by a specific retailer (Sweetwater, Guitar Center, Thomann to name a few).

Why not showing us your guitar? Post a couple of photos! :P

+1

FSR's are seldom cataloged so they're not likely to be listed in any Frontline brochures.

I bought one of those blizzard pearl Strats used at GC a year or two back.

Image

It had the neck plate and the 60th anniversary button on the back of the headstock. I was a bad boy, though, and I modded the guitar, converting it from three single-coils to two humbuckers.

Image

I always wanted a Strat that was this color and one day, there it was! Super nice condition and I think I paid less than $300 for it.

Lol! I just took one in trade on an amp. Fender Custom shop Ensenada! Meaning a guy had a friend who worked there and built him a couple of custom guitars. The one I got is a 2012 hss in blizzard pearl! It has a quarter sawn neck , aluminum pick guard with chrome dome telecaster knobs! Pretty cool axe for $200.00. I like it!
