Hello All, new to the Forum.
I have a MIM Strat with two single coils in neck and mid position and a dualcoil at the bridge, plus a Fishman Power Bridge Tremolo. The serial Number is on the back of the headstock and begins with MZ5 which, according to the research I've done, means it was made in Mexico in 2005 or 2006. However, the numbers from this period have 5or6 digits following the MZ, mine has 7. It's a beautiful guitar and plays great. I tend to believe that it is 2006 because it also has a small round badge on the back of the headstock saying 60th anniversary. But the number of digits is out of the ordinary, has anyone heard of this before? I would appreciate any info on it.

Thank You, PhilHill

Hi PhilHill,

It's MZ5 and then 6 more digits. This is normal.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I misread the info. At my age, the eyes aren't what they used to be. LOL

Congratulations on that Deluxe Power Strat. I had a power bridge on a deluxe nashville power Tele and loved the "acoustic" sound on the fly.

Finally learned to make SURE the wire for the piezo pups in each saddle wasn't caught under the height adjustment screw. Those little saddles are expensive and finicky to replace. :D

Thanks. I recently bought it, and I'm still discovering what it can do. Found it in a pawnshop in Kentucky, I love pawnshop specials. I have never been too much of a Strat fan, I have always preferred Telecasters. But the price was too good to pass up. I'm currently without a working camera, or I would post pics.

What's a camera? Are you saying your phone doesn't work? :D
I met another Phil Hill several times over the years. He used to drive very fast in his younger days. Nice guy. Welcome to the forum.
