I have a Squire Bullet Strat, It was my first guitar but now Im ready to upgrade. I like the look and sound of a Strat and Im thinking of getting a "real" Fender strat. But I was thinking, Should I get something else? I already have a strat, so why should I get another. So is there big enough diffrence that my first real guitar should be another strat?

I'd say get another cheap guitar, but this time with humbuckers. Then you'll have experience with both before making a costly decision.

There is a world of difference between a Squier Bullet Strat and a Fender Strat in terms of fit, finish, playability, and (most importantly) tone. Go to a well-stocked store and start playing a few -- you'll see, feel, and hear the difference.

If you like the Strat, then I say yes you should go for it. Just, take the time and play as many as you can find, you will find one that feels and plays right for you.

Every Guitar is different, and the perfect one for you is out there....just take to the time to find it.

Hi ConnorFin22 and welcome to the forum!

As Arjay pointed out, there is a huge difference between a Squier Bullet Strat and a Fender Strat. If you decide to get a Strat, know that you can have a fine instrument in a Standard Stratocaster on the lower end of your $600-$900 budget.

If I may ask, what amp will you be using?

    Cheers!
    BM

+1

Amp must be better than guitar for best tone or same quality ( price ? )

I'm not sure that I'd go that far but for certain, a good amp can make even a mediocre instrument sonically acceptable.

Just do some test yourself . Plug a very good guitar in a cheap amp and a cheap guitar in a very good amp . The last one will sound better .

But people like more to put money on guitar than amp .

But a very good guitar in a very good amp is the top

I did follow that strategy when I first bought professional level equipment. I bought a new Strat and then spent 3 times as much on my amp.

Of course I then bought many more guitars over the years. I didn't need to buy other amps.

And always, try out more than one to detemine if the feel and sound it what you want. A higher price does not always provide the right fit either.
