Hi guys
what electronics beside pickup selector do Hot noiseless pickups need or work best with ( pots, Capacitors , etc) ? Also is TBX tone control a good match for these pups ? by the way the guitar im going to modify is an AVRI 62 left handed .

I am no expert on the hot noiseless but if they are the ones designed or Jeff then here is that diagram
http://support.fender.com/service_diagr ... A_SISD.pdf :D
The std noiseless certainly often have a higher pot vlue e.g. 1 meg ohm. :D

thanks for your replies , ive read the diagrams . they have limited info on them. im more interested in first hand user experiences which lead to great outcomes. for example i read that 500k's works very fine with these pups. fender diagrams are the standard , very suboptimal solutions but im looking for the ultimate ,
still looking forward for any suggestions :)

More higher value for pots = more bright are pickups sound .

That's why all single coil Fender guitar use 250 k , to cut their brightness . And most , if not all guitars with Humbucker pickups use 500k to 1 meg , no need to cut brightness.....

This afternoon I fix a early 70 Tele Thinline with 2 single coils and 1 meg pots ; What a great sound , beautifull .
And the owner have an other one not Thinline but with two 1 meg pots too , another great and fabulous sound . Is it the Tele ( good year , model , pickups ) or the 1 meg ??

Try your mod and come back

Hey Stratele52 though your link is for noiseless pickups they are the N3s which are "noiseless" but not the pus the Op is referring to.
The std noiseless show 1Meg as per this..

N3 is a totally different pickup design from the Hot Noiseless and shouldn't be used for comparison.

Hot Noiseless pickups use ceramic magnets. The Vintage Noiseless pickups (used in the Clapton guitars) use Alnico 2 magnets. N3s are a totally different design from either of those.

The link provided by jimmy_james is the Jeff Beck Strat and does indeed use the Hot Noiseless Pickups. I would say that would be the place to start. I have never heard of 500K pots being recommended for use with these pickups. They are very bright and high output as it is.

For the record, Jeff Beck does not use Hot Noiseless pickups in his personal guitars. They are custom wound for him, but I forget by who.

I don't find a need for it. Neither does Eric Clapton.
