It's not a '70s Reissue, what did they call it?

There's no such thing as a "70s Reissue", but there are "Classic Series 70s", and this looks like one (they did come in black), except for the 22 frets. This could easily be a FSR. I can't see the headstock details, but could this be an Am Spcl?

And this is certainly not one. That was my point.

I couldn't find it at Thomann website. Edit: I found it, it's a FSR.

This MIM Standard was a FSR commissioned by Thomann to celebrate their 60th anniversary.

Not an American Special, Fender used the same decals found on newer Roadhouses and Lonestars.

In that first guitar picture, it looks like the Fender on the headstock is all black, not gold. :?:

Me too, but it's too hard to tell.

Makes me wonder why someone would buy an American special when there are models like these and the Lonestar/Roadhouse

The guitar you're talking about was a Highway 1 Strat.

Your first post picture in this thread is a Highway 1? The first picture in this thread is the one to which I am referring.

The first post picture is the FSR MIM Standard I'm talking about, there are more shots of that guitar if you're interested:

Unlike the regular production MIM Standards this model sports three Tex-Mex single coils and comes with a deluxe gigbag. Available in Black, Olympic White and 3-Colour Sunburst.

The Fender logo on the first post picture does look to be in black, whereas in the additional pictures it appears to be in gold with black outlining.
I wouldn't be surprised to find that Thomann used a picture of the Highway 1 for the top picture, and the FSR MIM for the rest.

The Fender logo looks black because of the angled view.

I couldn't see the detail too well zooming in from here.
I've just been on the Thomann site and zoomed right in, and you're right.

Great looking guitar, and I'll bet it feels good and plays well too.
I was really taken with another MIM guitar the other day, a Classic Player in Sonic Blue.

Another Beatles-inspired guitar :)

Brand-new like the day John Lennon and George Harrison purchased their Sonic Blue Stratocasters for studio use back in the mid-1960s.
