Sheer idleness?
Practical ineptitude?
Tone deafness?
No playing skills? - it wouldn't make any difference if your strings were in decent shape or not, 'cos it would all sound awful.
Your roadie has gone on vacation?
Your guitar is an unplayed vintage model and everything is as it was when it left the factory

The best reason to never change strings is because the guitar is never played. If a string goes dead on a guitar all alone in the woods, does it make a sound? No, not even an out of tune one ...
