Got this guitar from my sister as a birthday present a while back. It was lightly used but has no stickers or ways to identify it. It doesn't look very old at all. It just says 'Fender Stratocaster' 'with synchronized tremolo'. Any help is greatly appreciated.

At best that's a Hohner copy, at worst it's made in Number 7 Shanghai Electric Guitar and Lawnmower Manufacturing Factory.

Either way it's never seen the inside of any Fender factory. Sorry you got a bad deal there, decals are easy to fake and it's always better to check authenticity here before buying (although I relaise if it's a present then that's not really possible).

Regardless of pedigree, it was a gift. Enjoy it in the spirit for which it was intended.

It looks like a higher quality instrument than the $36 Teisco Del-Ray I started with.
