Well. I have a strange appetite to do a new build thread, and I have a complicated and full-on project idea running through my mind. (I've a feeling nobody has yet done a raw timber up build on this Forum, including neck...?)

But I have a lot on my plate just at this moment. Start nagging me towards the end of September and we'll see what we can do...

Cheers - C

WOO-HOO!! :D

Ask and Ye Shall Receive.

Looking forward to seeing/reading about it. Any more hints?

Anybody else want to see a Ceri build thread?

Hahahahaha!

Appealing cat photos are always a good strategy. Do this in September and I may not be able to resist...

Cheers, man - C

bit late to the party here.

i dont know what happened to the photos from my build thread :(

ive found some more, but they are from the latter part of the build. ive got no photos now of body sanding/preparation and neck pocket shaping.

good news is it sounds great, plays well and looks pretty tasty.

Great stuff. All we need now is a way to separate the posts from the build threads

FWIW, I thought this post by Xhefri deserves mention in here.

Title: Oh Boy! More About Firestorm finishes!

Subject: It's a really good 'Un-Build Thread' about Fakes and a great Read/Pictorial.

I hope this thread gets Closed and Kept, rather than Eliminated, from the Forum.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Another deserving build

Xhefri's Custom RED Flame Build

subject: A Warmoth Strat chambered body. It has 1/8 matchbook flamed Maple cap on Swamp Ash in a nice red burst color.

Got a small project going on now - changing an HH to P90s but should have a better one soon.

One of my customs went back for some changes and I got a call with a status update today. Mentioned that I found some blue pine just right for a one piece natural finish tele body and was going to try my own build. He offered me the use of his shop, his costs for parts, and help along the way! Now I'm thinking Strat and better wood! Maybe a one piece spalted maple with a clearcoat since I can dig through his pile and take my pick. I'm pretty sure I can manage a Tele by myself later, especially after picking up some tricks from him but wouldn't attempt a Strat by myself. This guy made guitars for Clapton, Joe Walsh, and Steppenwolf back in the day and made one for MegaDeath last year - I'm sure I'm going to learn alot and end up with a fine guitar! I've been wanting something to put a set of Fat 50s into and this build might end up costing less than a Mexican Standard if I don't go too crazy with the hardware.
