Could not agree more however "hindsight" is sometimes no different then being able to predict the future which no one can do. I can imagine if people knew back in the 70's what all that routing and stripping would do to devalue the guitars at the time when they were not really "cheap" but no one expected them to go up at such a rate. Same with old cars...heck if I could only go back to the mid-late 60s I would be a multi millionaire now just off knowing which cars to buy and stow away for a few decades.

But once in a while you still find the deals. Like the 69 SG I got for practically nothing because no one even knew what it was being it was stripped.It will cost me a thousand in parts and a few weeks for a refinish but are worth 4-6 grand when done. Of course if I had to pay someone else to restore it i would be lucky to break even regardless of getting the neck/body for nothing.
