Been away from playing guitar for a while for a variety of reasons but I'm back couldn't stay away!Just ordered a Fender Deluxe Lone star MIM it was in my price range and seems like a very versatile and well built Axe years ago had a American Texas special start and I remembered how much I enjoyed playing it so I guess this is next best thing.I ordered a Ibanez as53 and got it and it was very hard to play so I went to my local music shop and tried a wide variety of guitars and the strat just felt right so guess I'm a start guy lol!!!!!!.Look forward to being part of this community and Fender family again!Any opinions on lone star are welcome!

Hey Rednef 67, welcome to the forums.

I haven't played a Lonestar but it's a Strat and that's a step in the right direction.

I hope you can post a review about the fit & finish, playability and sound as well as post some pictures here.

That last part is very important. If you don't know how, just ask. :D

Dan

Love the Lonestars! Prefer the older ones with the Pre-CBS size headstocks, but that is a preference. Congrats! Pics?

I actually went and played the lonestar last weekend very impressed by the quality and has a very good tone and was very easy to play like strats are but I came home with a PRS se santana which is a great sounding guitar, well built, not as diverse as a strat or as easy to play
like a strat so I'm gonna give the prs a chance the next couple weeks if nothiing changes gonna go back to a strat. Can I get a good strat under $1,000? Besides lone star n. Road h

It's the new 22-fret version with the large headstock? The new Lonestars feature an S1 coil-split switch to cut the front coil from the humbucking bridge pickup; its little sister the Roadhouse has a secret weapon under the hood which allows 6 different sounds ranging from classic blues grit to searing humbucker-like leads.

The V6 is a modified version the MDX circuit which can be bypassed with the S1 for traditional Stratocaster tones.

+1. I have this guitar on my "wish list" on Sweetwater's website! I am ordering mine in the 'ocean turquoise' color!

I'm gonna go play roadhouse today tone can be shaped IMO playability is more important to me at this stage of the game.

the Classic Player 50s & 60s are fine guitars if you can find one still in stock.
