Aside regular-production Select Stratocasters and Telecasters Fender did in 2013 a limited run of guitars with a feature set which was previously unavailable on that series.

This exquisite example featured a gorgeous quilted maple top on an alder body. The green/orange finish is lively and energetic. Other touches included N3 Noiseless pickups, S1 switch and a gold anodized pickguard.

Very cool design, not the most flattering color, but I'm sure it looks much different in person.

Yes unusual pickup combos with the S1 down and large headstock.
I couldn't resist but have yet to collect it.
Obviously the colour is not everyones cup of tea!
Quite a bit over the top no pun intended.
The model is called dealer select green yellow burst.
I really like anodised pickguards they just have a great feel to them kind of rugged.
It does not have the nice birdseye neck that the earlier hss select large headstock model has
There was an hss version with deluxe whammy as well.
Most are gone but some places still have them and others say back ordered till June
The new general select lineup has a lot of quilt. :D

I like the neck.

The color would have to grow on me.

Wild!

Not bad, especially the neck.

Personally I would like having that channel-bound neck with 22 frets but channel binding has limitations as it won't allow enough room for a 22nd fret.

Adding a 22nd fret on a channel bound neck is technically feasible but this method requires more woodwork.

FYI that green/orange finish is called "Ice tea lemon burst".

it could be called that but most iced tea bursts do not seem to have the green element to them .
The back of these guitars are green. They are marketed as trans green yellow burst not iced tea.
The iced tea fender select is a regular model not the dealer select one you have pictured.

Thanks for the clarification.

Did you've a photo of the HSS version? I guess the guitar you talked about has a DH-1 (Atomic) humbucking pickup on it.

I think it may just have the twin head and select single coils though am not 100% sure.
They are not N3s unlike the sss version.
I know where you guys are coming from with the color but probably no more out there than this mexi. The hss and mexi I do not have they are just web photos so I hope the owners do not mind me posting :D

I'd like to see their attempts at making a 22 fret channel-bound neck. You know they had to try. If they cut the channel before the overhang, it should have worked.

Seems that Fender and Gibson are running neck and neck [pun not intended] for second place behind PRS. IMHO, Smith still has the lock on beautiful wood because of the way their carve tops reflect light. It lends itself to enhancing the finish. These Strats are pretty but look flat in comparison.

Looks like someone painted that mexi with a mix of paint colors thru a shot gun at 5 feet  Then tossed on a neck afterwards. Bet Jimi Hendrix would like it.

If it does, Lotrimin might help.

Ah, so there's medication for that!
