American spec vintage trem went straight in - no worries.

Goodonya ...Mark.

Beautiful Strat with tons of SRV "Charley" vibe. The humbucker blends the two singles in the neck & middle nicely.

It's possible to cut one of the coils from the 'bucker for sizzling single-coil clean tones via a push-pull pot since the bridge pickup is essentially two singles placed together side-by-side in a humbucker fashion. Sort of Lace Sensor "Dome" Dually.

Which lipstick pickups you've used for this build? Artecs or GFS Pro Tubes?

They're GFS Pro Tubes mate, and yes I have a push/pull pot waiting to go in, but the guitar's out on loan at present.

Are you also plan installing one of those GFS active preamps to fatten up the single coils or supercharge the humbucker with lots of scooped midrange? (just a thought)

To what possible end?

So it doesn't sound like a Strat at all?

Clapner may prefer such a generic tone but thousands more would prefer their Strat to sound like a Strat.

I finally got to play my DPS through a nice tube amp, 63 Silvertone made by Danelectro. WOW what a difference. This should not have been a surprise to me but the tone that came out of that amp just caught me off guard. :D :D

Those old tube Silvertone's provided some mighty pleasing sounds. I'm not surprised that you found it to your liking.
