Tks in advance for your help.

I own one and I have no idea how to check serial numbers on them. I've looked and can't find a thing.

Mine's an 031...

I guess you'd have to call them. I just can't find a thing about those numbers. Let me know if you find anything out.

Anyone ever find out this information? I trade for an EJ and would like to know how to break down the serial number myself? Also, if there is any other numbers that should be verified.

I know some of the folks who work at Fender monitor these forums from time to time, so maybe they can chime in?

There is a "DATING YOUR U.S.-MADE FENDER STRINGED INSTRUMENT" page here...

http://www.fender.com/support/usa_instruments.php

However I do not see the EJs listed. The serial numbers for the Eric Johnson signature strats are located on the back neckplate and will start with the "EJ" prefix.

I can't find any dating info either, but I think the serial number sequence started from scratch with the EJ so the serial number should show how many EJs were produced before yours.

Thanks for the reply. I do know how to date a regular strat, it's the EJ I'm trying to figure out.
