A big facility is being built north of my town to measure gravitational waves. I don't know if the Big Bang is a goal of the research.

Back to the MIM guitar, I'd like to know what it is. Just curious.

There's already a massive government complex north of you in Gakona, Alaska. It's called "HAARP" and its purpose is both mysterious and highly classified. You should stock up on Reynold's Wrap and start folding up some tin-foil hats.

Alright, I'm Sorry, had a Bad Brain Day, No More Science Fiction Drama From Me! 8)

As for the OP's guitar, Rob's spec sheet has that model introduced in Jan. 1999, so 2000 is a reasonable assumption.

BTW, I've got extra tin foil hats if anyone needs them.

How you got 1990 from that first pic is beyond me. The second pic, I don't think so, not from the factory anyway.

What you want to do with the information is up to yourselves.......
I am no expert, unlike many forum users.
I make no judgement and to be honest it dosn't really bother me.

Notwithstanding your expressed personal view, the serial number did pique your curiosity to put the question to the Forum. Subsequently we find an interesting inconsistency between how your guitar is physically dated, and information Fender has in its files. The historic problems with Fender's serial numbers IS a matter of concern to many owner/collectors. Hence, attempting to ferret out the 'how's and why's' of this puzzlement, might be worthwhile perhaps, in the end, even to you.

Well, okay.

That neck date looks like it has been there for awhile, but in the day/month/year format?
And what is nEA?

I see the blue "OCT 0" and some other blue ink.

Take a picture of the pots please.

I'm going to Berlin for the weekend and will take the photos when I get back.
