I had a question about the 2006 Diamond Anniversary MIM Blizzard Pearl Stratocaster. I was wondering if anyone knew how many were made during it's run. My serial number starts MZ520, so would that mean that it is an earlier number in the run?

This is my first time posting so please forgive me if I am posting to the wrong place. Thanks for your patience.

Hi GuitarMomma,

I don't know if anyone knows how many were made, but you are correct in your assessment of yours being made earlier in the year, 2006. BTW, in case you were wondering, 2006 was the Fender 60th ann, not the Strat's 60th, which is this year. Fender doesn't change the prefixes of the serial numbers until well into the next year, and so the MZ5 prefix would carry over from 2005 into 2006. Since yours has the MZ5 prefix, and the diamond emblem, this indicates a production in early 2006 for yours.

How about posting a picture? I really like the Blizzard Pearl color, notice my avatar, a 2008 Am Std in Blizzard Pearl. :)

Haven't had time for an official photo shoot just yet. This is a picture sent to me from the salesperson before the purchase. Thank you so much for your reply shimmilou!

Nice! I can tell that it has some upgraded pups, not the standard ceramic ones. I bet it sounds as good as it looks. Enjoy! :)

I have seen quite a few but never heard a number they produced. Picked up a used one a few years back. Most of the love I have for it is for the neck. The grain pattern is beautiful and the dark tint makes it pop. Frets were perfect and it plays so nicely.
The stock pup's are tex mex and they do an ok job, probably would sound better if I played better. The guitar also came with a soft case/bag that has the 60th diamond logo on it.
Enjoy your new strat GuitarMomma.

Thank you PicknGoodTime:) I agree, the finishing on this one is really nice and the frets are great. The first owner left all the original tags and accessories in the gig bag so that was a nice bonus. It is just such a pretty guitar, you have to remember to stop looking at it and play it. :D

That is a particularly striking example -- the tinted fretboard and neck really sets that Blizzard Pearl off.
