Hey.. does anyone have experience with the Fender strat american deluxe? Looks like the best stratocaster ever!

Hi JesseFender,

I'm the proud owner of an Am Dlx Strat. The one pictured below actually :)

I've owned and played a lot of guitars in my 46 years of life and this little sweetie is the best instrument I've ever handled. Gibsons are nice. I was never really a fan of Mosrites or PRSs. When I saw this guitar I fell in love. When I handled it and felt how solid the tuning was I knew this guitar was made for me.

I have the same as Manabu but ordered the Dimarzio Yngwie pick-up system ready to install from Musiciansfriend. I'm not a fan of the S-1 either and was look looking to change the pick-ups anyhow. I've loved the craftmanship and feel on the guitar since day one but the pick-ups weren't to my liking.

I've actually been thinking of a David Gilmourish setup with EMGs. If I were to swap out the pups though, I think I'll install the new pups on a new pickguard fully populated with electronics. This way I can swap between the stock and the EMG setup by swapping the whole pickguard.

As far as I know, you can't just remove the volume knob like a tone knob on the S-1. You'd have to remove the pickguard and change out the entire pot and I don't think that's what your trying to do. The switch in the middle of the volume knob prevents removing just the knob.
