I am doing a custom build. Want to wire a Strat (standard 1 vol, 2 tones) with:
1) neck and bridge pickups (like Blackmore Strat),
2) with separate tones and separate caps, AND
3) in the Fifties style (tone after vol).

I have a diagram of the Blackmore Strat (from Fender).
I have a diagram of the Fifties Wiring Mod for Strats (from Premier Guitar).
I have a diagram of the Separate Tone Mod for Strats (from Premier Guitar).
I've checked out Seymour Duncan and Dimarzio's sites for wiring diagrams.

I just can't figure out how to do.

Can anyone point me to a diagram or website that might help me?

Thanks.

Since my question stumped the forum, I tried emailing Dirk Wacker, singlecoil.com and contributing writer of Premier Guitar.

Thought I'd share his reply with you all.

"thanks for your email. Yes, a combination of all of this three mods is possible ! Here is how I would do this wiring:

1. Use the Strats 50´s wiring diagram and rewire your Strat with it, leaving out the two connections of the tone pots from the 5-way switch and the interconnections between the two tone pots.

2. Use the Strats "tone split" diagram to attach the two tone controls to the 5-way switch and the connections on the two tone pots, using two individual tonecaps of your choice. Notice: there are NO interconnections between the two tone pots in this wiring !

3. Use the Strat "7-sound" mod (also on PG) and set it up, this way you are able to dial in the two additional tones "bridge + neck" and "all three pickups together"

Very cool idea to combine this three mods, I bet it will be a very flexible guitar !

Cheers from Germany,

Dirk
