Measure your pickup heights so you can them back at the same height

Remove the strings

Remove the knobs and switch tip

Remove the pickguard screws

Removed the nuts from the pots

Remove the screws from the selector switch

Lift up on pickguard

Remove the screws for the pickups

Reverse order to put it all back together.

I have done this a few times. Just take it all off and do your best to put it all on the new pickguard the same way you took it off. Some of the the wiring may be a little loose just keep your eye on it and make sure there are no loose wires before you put it back on. I took mine in to a shop the first time and it didnt sound right. I took it apart and there were loose wires. I re did all the sottering and now it sounds great. Just be careful.

Also, make sure that you have a guard with the correct number of holes in the pickguard. Mostly 11 these days, but some have eight.
