Before you drink the Gibson Kool-Aid, take a look at Duesenberg.

"need" is a funny way of putting it. technically we only need 1 guitar but that would just be silly. I do try to keep it a fairly modest number, my herd always has some churn of buying and selling with the goal to always upgrade the top 5-6 that will be staying with me. I enjoy horse trading the low-mid range guitars as a way of playing all different kinds of guitars.
- i think that my goal will be to always have a Strat deluxe, a gibson LP, my deusenberg Starplay TV, my Jaguar HH special and like 2 or 3 other more unique guitars. There are so many beauties out there so nice to keep the last few slots open for buying and selling. But that is just me, there are tons of different ways of approaching the question. I don't think there is any wrong answer.

I have a Duesenberg Starplayer TV and can't say enough good about the guitar. It is one of the most beautiful looking and playing guitars i have ever had the pleasure of owning.

I've got 6 electrics, 2 acoustics and a bass. I've got a guitar on layaway right now, but honestly, 2 electrics (single coil and humbucker) one acoustic and a bass is all I really need.

Yes Here's the pics:

Well I DID ask! That's a nice Array of Axes. I used to own several models of the Electra brand, the single coil Pickups were pretty crappy, loved the MMK Humbuckers. Well made guitars with great necks.

Lot of guitars there F.A., personally I'd like to wrap my loving arms around that '72 Custom Tele and the Antigua Strat and.....

Who needs a Hall when you've got a pool next to the canal.

Thanks danagos. I guess you can tell I LOVE guitars and favor Fenders. The reason I can buy so many guitars is that I get killers deals. The other thing is I don't gamble, fish, hunt, ski, sail, golf, play tennis, hike, camp, and I don't drink beer, wine,or liquor. I guess it gives me some spending money to work with. Unless I develop an expensive addiction,I'll keep spending money on guitars. :D

I can see that you've made a good start on a collection!

Like you I don't drink or gamble and It's too late in the game for me to chase dem Womens!!

I won't bore you with pics of guitars that I "used to have", but I do appreciate a fine guitar, and you've certainly got them in spades.

I'll be down in TX soon but up North, Dallas & Odessa. This is a fine time of year to be there.

These are my current guitars:

Top - My Fender "Relic-ed" build,
Middle - '93 Strat Plus/Ultra restoration,
Bottom - '03 Am Dlx (stock, early version 2)

Five right now - in order of preference:

Fender Tele Select HH
Gibson SG
Seagull S12+
PRS SE
Fender Tele Thinline '72 RI

I've had a few others, but this is the current pack.

If I buy more guitars, it will be as replacements. I can play five guitars, and it allows me to have different tunings and string sizes. Much more than that would be a waste. Others who can spend more time playing can probably have more guitars and still play them all. But buying guitars for the wall or bragging rights is something I seriously despise. If you don't play it, sell, give or lend it it to someone who will.

Yes, I want another guitar. An Esquire with third millennium hardware for preference. But then one of the ones I have should go. Probably the Thinline, because of all its quality issues.
