The guitar seems to be authentic.

From here, it looks pretty good. Just a few things to look into to be sure...

You should always pop the hood and check out date codes on the pots and pickups...and to verify it has not has anything replaced. It is easy to do.

I don't recall if MIM Strats of that time had flat or staggered poles. It looks to me that the two pickguard screws near the bridge are not as aged as the others...possibly replaced? Not a big deal unless it was part of some nefarious plot to rob the goodly innards and replace them with some kind of junk. You know what I mean.

How does it feel? How does it sound? I'd trade a nice dinner out for something like you've got there.

Snap some shots of the electrical bits, post 'em up. If you feel brave, take off the neck and look for more date codes and other writings. We like this game.

Love the color, regardless.

Cheers.

Looks legit to me. Nice score. Wish I could find deals like that. For $100 I don't think I'd care if it was all original or not.

It would be an awful lot of work (and cash) to fake a MIM Strat and then sell it for just $100. At that price, though, I would have to wonder... but I'd buy it anyway.

Nice guitar.

Good Score, that serial number is a bit crunched up, but that could have been the decal not adhering properly, however just the hardware itself is worth more than $100... 8)

In my follow up pic, Strat on the right is a 98 MIM, middle Strat. a 2001 MIM.
At least in 98 poles were staggered...

If somebody bolted a Kluson tuner and a Strat saddle to a 2 x 4, penciled in a fretboard, then strung it with a shoelace, you'd buy it.

Let's face it, Dennis -- you're a guitar junkie.
