Hi,
i want to buy this guitar, but the vendor is a private vendor,
so i want to say if this guitar is an originale Fender Stratocaster or a fake.

The Model is Fender Buddy Guy Stratocaster Honey Blonde, and those are some photos of this guitar.

Someone can help me?

http://www.ebay.it/itm/121286464008

and for you, this price is too high or not?

Thanks!

Ask for a photo of the headstock and the serial number, this is where all the information is.

As for price, guitars sell for various prices depending on which country you're in. How much would one be in your country if you could go to a shop and buy it new?

Hi Saset

For what its worth guitar dater suggests this...
Guitar Info
This guitar is from the Signature Series
made at the Corona Plant (Fender), USA
in the Year(s): 2001

From the limited info (cant read the info) and few photos it looks legit but others may agree/disagree with this. As for price if its worth it to you, its worth it.
Might be worth asking the seller to show the neck heel and under the PG.
Try searching on the net for info, re colours etc.
Looks sweet.

.. Al

Rob can't give you a 100% guarantee, nor can anyone else based just on the pics in the auction. There are lots of very good forgers in the world, and printing a serial number that matches a real existing guitar and then putting it on copy guitar isn't hard for them to do.

The seller has very little feedback, none of it recent. That increases the risk factor somewhat. Every seller has to start somewhere, but it's reassuring when a seller sells a bunch of little stuff and builds up a record of honesty and satisfied customers, rather than jump right in and have his first sale in years be a very expensive item. That doesn't mean he's a fraud (my first eBay transaction was selling a very expensive vintage pedal), but it does increase the risk somewhat.

I can't read the terms of the auction. Does he allow you to return the guitar for a refund if you're dissatisfied with it? If so and you decide to purchase the guitar, take it to an expert and get it checked out in person.

I don't know about the price in Eastern Europe. The best thing to do is check eBay's completed auctions and see what similar Artist Signature models sell for in your area.

Some fake Strats are easy to spot if you have any familiarity with Fender products. Others only have subtle discrepancies that you'll only notice if you look very closely and know every detail of what a Fender should be.

Nothing in those pics looks fake -- no obvious errors. So it's either real or a very good fake. There aren't a lot of pics and they don't show the subtle things that would give away a really good fake.

I hate to say this, but if you have to ask, you probably wouldn't be able to tell a really good fake from a real one. Since you're going to meet the seller, your best bet may be to judge him rather than judge the guitar. Of course that's hard to do too -- good cheaters are good because they've mastered the art of convincing people that they're trustworthy.
