Well I sold my 1996 MIM strat which served me well for my dream, an American Standard.

A guy in my neighborhood who is a sheriff put this on craigs list. He is moving out of state to be a cop in Arizona and selling all of his stuff.
I got one American Fender Standard Strat with Flight Case, Fender Strap, a couple Cables, a boss Mega Distortion MD-2 with 2 AC adapters, 1 guitar stand, all of the papers, whammy bar, and receipt from Russo's music here in Omaha. He bought the guitar 3 months ago. The receipt says it's charcoal frost. I paid $550 for everything. (See picture at link below)

1st, Do you think I got a good deal?
2nd, there is metal circle over where the tremelo would go into. I want to use the tremelo but don't want to risk damaging the guitar. Anyone know how to get this out without damaging the guitar?

Thank you.

my computer wont' let me see the pictures, but if that's legit, that's an awesome deal!!!! I mean, you could easily pay that for the American Standard alone...

Hello Midwestguitarman,

A good deal indeed.

Covering the tremolo hole is only a sticker
peel away and thread in the bar.

Have fun.

Cheers.

Yeah, you got a great deal. i got the new '08 strat and nothing compares to my experience, i had my eye on the epi LP's because of their visual appearance and was literally about to get one of my own. i just loved the color of heritage cherry sunburst, but felt a part of the sound just missing and didn't experience the full tonal range. then my friend says "hey, i play a strat you should look into it" and i was all cool with that so i put off the LP for a week and started looking at the strats and it got me from the start. and better was when the new '08 line came out with new colors and guess which one i fell in love with, but the sienna sunburst. It was a dream buy but hard to get, not many places in the NY area held Sienna w/ the maple neck, so i call up alot of places and finally one says they just got one in stock and put it on hold for me. and wow was it awesome to be the first one holding that guitar, literally the last one to hold my guitar was the guy in corona cali. anyways it was just what i dreamed of and more. i am happy to be a part of the fender community and congratulate you on your american std. its a beauty!
