Hello everyone i've been wanting to buy a Squier Supersonic since i first heard about the guitar, so when i found out that Fender decided to make one i was quite ecstatic, but now i have the chance to buy a super clean mint Squire Supersonic.

What would be a better purchase?
The Made in Mexico Fender Super-Sonic? For under $700
or
The Made in Japan Squier Super-Sonic for $850

Not sure would would be better all around tool?

i would assume the Squier would probably need new pick ups?

Not to enter into a MIM vs MIJ dabate, but very often you'll find MIJ guitars are of excellent craftsmanship. That's not to knock the MIM. Try both if you can.

Those "in the know" might recommend that you find a used Squier Vista series Supersonic from the 90's. That series was MIJ, and the quality was out of this world for the money.

PS, I am unaware of there being any Squiers being made in Japan nowadays.

I think the MIM will be a better bet. Electronics in those MIJ squire brand aren't that good and overall build quality consistancies between the two will be even.

Quality of MIM today is better than MIJ quality of the 90's, where it perhaps for a short while in the early to mid 90's was the other way around.
