Did you buy one? From Warmoth? :?: 8) :?:

Yes. Let me find the particulars.

    Style: Stratocaster®
    Construction: Vintage Modern Construction

    Finish: Black Gloss

It hasn't shipped yet but I'm hoping it does this week. Looking to put some hipshot locking tuners on it.

That's exciting!

The Black Gloss finish is what, a custom request? Is that painted black then a clear gloss finish applied?

Love to hear your reactions to the quality when you receive it and see some pics.

I bought mine from the showcase. The do different things there and they tend to be discounted.

Back of neck and headstock are painted black. I'll see if it goes on the HH body or the hardtail.

I've got a yen to get a custom Warmoth neck, so I'd love to hear your reaction to the build and playability quality vs a Fender neck.

I have no memory of dissatisfaction with Warmoth parts. I'll be out in the Seattle area in late April and am thinking of visiting the factory for a look see.

I love the one Warmoth body I have. I have been impressed with the bodies and necks friends have.

Thanks for those impressions. From what I read, Warmoth quality is supposed to be pretty good. :!:

Love the body I bought from them. Takes a bit for the finish to really harden, tho.

I imagine Warmoth's custom stuff gets shipped out quickly, your neck, being from their showcase, might have had time to dry out fully.

I refinished a Fender body and neck recently, Urethane Gloss and Satin finishes, and weeks later I could still smell it "gassing".

I think only UV Flashed coats are immediately "done".

Look forward to your Black Beauty Neck report.

I've kicked that around with you on the occasion of other trips out there in years past. Home base as usual will be Bellevue. Don't know what the larger plan is but we'll be out there for a week. I owe the EMP a long overdue revisit.

Here's my report: UPS sucks. There, I said it.

I bought a lens from Tokyo with free shipping. It arrived in 3 working days. (Guaranteed delivery range did end May 2nd, I should note. So they gave themselves some leeway.) 3 days! And the US postal service was involved! But UPS? Not free and it only had to come from Washington. Can't do that on time. Bastards.

**end rant**
