Most pockets have at least some unpainted portion where a number of inspection stamps and initials may be found.

Interesting.... perhaps a refinish..... can see some things stamped in that neck pocket that have been sprayed over..... can make out "2002" .... but can't make out what's before that or the part on the headstock end of the pocket...

Dunno about respray. The neck heel doesn't really have enough residue paint on it. Some always crosses. Cellulose is terrible for it.
Also the pickup cavities. Didn't the Knopfler have a 62 neck and a 57 body? The worm route looks a little too neat for that.
This is a CS strat, a Custom Classic from 2006. Now I know Fender and particularly Customshop change their quirky ways often. But I can't see it being much different to this. Note the neck pocket, also note the pickup cavities. The neck pickup has a finish type stamp reading "Urethane" the middle pickup has a code number (which incidentally matches a number on the neck)
