Well, it has been a week and he's not back. I guess all of the options at the Warmoth site have him mez-mo-rized.

Come back, stratdude83!

How is the quality of the wood? Because i would much rather play a guitar then build one and have it be a lemon...

If you are reffering to Warmoth.com, you can say they're all about wood. They don't sell much more than wood... both finished and unfinished. And as I said earlier, your veriety of choices is only limited by your budget. Of course a $50.00 body won't compare with a $300.00 body. Also, as far as I know all of their bodies and necks are made at their plant here in the good ol' US of A.

A friend from work built this one:

using a Warmoth hard-tail body (no color, just clear coat) and a USA Custom Guitars neck. The body is ash with book-matched flame maple top, as you see. It's got an Earvana compensated nut too. Turned out pretty nice, if you ask me.

Warmoth has some great wood choices.

Yes Fender made Strats without a tremolo. They were called hardtails. I own 2 a 1979 Olympic white (pretty much bone stock) and a purple HSS that I'm touching up the paint on. The 79 hardtail is pictured on the "pics of your strat" posting on the last page (page 64).
