The 2nd generation Samboras also used a pair of resistors for gain reduction.

My Red Gilmour Strat uses a 1997 Deluxe PowerHouse body. You can see where the active boost circuit was on the first shot (square route under pup cavity). It's a great body for my project as the EMG's needed a battery and this has a cavity already in it :

That's a good lookin' body. You might consider starting a new thread for this build. We love them and the more photographed details the better! :)

I'm kinda partial to Candy Apple Red bodies myself.

I'd be looking for a second generation body with the battery box. I like the idea of NOT having to remove two screws to change the battery.

I picked up a graffiti yellow one a couple of years ago. I love the guitar. Don't worry about unscrewing the battery lid, only takes 5 seconds and I haven't had to replace my battery yet.

I don’t have as much of a reply as I do a question , I bought a 98 powerhouse strat in great condition and I took it all apart and put some 57/62 loaded 920D pickguard , sounds great ! My question is I was going to use the noiseless pickups in another strat build but don’t care about the 12 dB boost , just wanted the pickups to see what they sound like alone , when I measure them they are only 2,8 2.7 2.5 ohms , most pickups being in the 6-11 range , before I gut another strat has anyone tried this and will these pups work without the added circuitry ?
