Yes... Taped on with painters tape as I have to rewire the HSS...
It is one of my earlier Stratopartsters... Neck is an old J.B. Player and the body is a Squier..
There is a thread on this and the black and tortoise pick guard Strats..

I don't ordinarily like Tortoise pickguards but on that black guitar it looks sweet. 8)

Do you think he'll finish that thing anytime soon. I'm getting tired of standing here waiting. Aren't you?

A horse is a horse, of course ... Mr. Ed ...

Truth be told, I had so much going on that when I tried to work on them for just a few moments, it almost ended up as a disaster..... :|

That would be a shame. Take your time, the thinking about it, should take far longer than the doing. :)

You've got the anticipation built up around here now. A little sanding will bring resounding applause!

The black Strat with the tort guard and rosewood neck has tons of Dann Huff/Mike Landau flavors, except their axes sport a hot humbucker in the bridge!

Vince Gill's Stratocaster featured on one of the Crossroads Vids was actually the layout I was going for...

Slap his Artist Series EMG pickguard on your favorite black Strat and you have it. Make life simple by putting it on either a Clapton/Powerhouse guitar body and you won't have to sweat stowing the battery. A later model Powerhouse body will have the battery box in it. Better. This look works well with a rosewood board as opposed to maple.

I run clean Doc... No onboard power sources, just a cranked amp ( Pro Junior ) love this little amp, so versatile or the dog eared Magnatone ( which right now is at Dr. Balzano's shop 8) )
The VG lookalike if you recall was the 1st build thread I posted here 3 or 4 years ago.
I will do another black on tortoise with a proper neck and all...
