I had a clear pick guard on a past project and it always bugged me that I could see the rout and innards thru the clear plexi.

I wonder did he have it in mind to put a clear guard on the guitar rear routing notwithstanding. :?:

I suppose, but really the way I play, pick guards are really unnecessary, coming from a classical and/acoustic fingerpicking, I use all my fingers as well as a pick.
I'm not a rhythm player like P. Townshend who just bashes about like Don Quixote ...

Look like examples of a series of Custom Shop Masterbuilt pieces collectively know as 'The Unaffordables' the motto of which was "You'll Never Be Ready!"

I just finished a strat build and the rear routed cavities were a big factor in the body I chose. There are very few guitars that I think have a scratchplate that enhances the aesthetic. I'm not a huge fan of the std strat and tele guards, and taking them off the les pauls I've owned was always a first job.

Will be ordering a neck, probably sometime next week if not sooner... Not decided on going with E-Bay or straight from Fender...

Was not directed at any one specifically, just emphasizing that a pick guard is not always needed.

Absolutely, I wrote in jest. Have you decided on a rear route, sans pickguard, or still mulling it over?

Apparently reproducing a Mary Kaye exactly isn't what you have in mind.

What specs would you prefer in a neck? I've been awfully tempted by the range of options on the Warmoth Custom Neck builder.

Definitely decided on a rear rout.... No.. it won't be an exact Mary Kaye but I never intended it to be carbon copy, for a multitude of reasons, not the least of which is if I ever sell it or it is stolen it could not be fronted as a Mary Kaye.....

As far as neck specs, I had really liked the neck on the 2001 Custom Shop 56 NOS Stratocaster that I had and sold.... ( Thanks goes to the EX for that .... ) I had posted it but perhaps I'll revive it for those who did not see it....

But I'm not quite sure, I may very well be building 2 Stratocasters at the same time....
That is finishing up the Stratopartster IV which was the figured Maple project as well as doing something with the other body in Ash....

This was it.....

Any chance you can get it back? Sell it to a friend?
