They both are great guitars, I just prefer the sound of the Standard to the features of the Deluxe. That's all.

American Standard Stratocaster: $999.00

Anyone know if Fender plans on releasing new American Deluxe models just like they did the 2008 American Standard models?

Fender seems to be working up from the Highway One to the American Standard and so it seems like the American Deluxe could be next. How about it Fender? Also, why not put the bitchin' roller nut on all the American Standards, not just the Mahagony special? That would differentiate it from the Highway One more, and probably give me GAS.

I just bought an American Deluxe. I was interested in the roller nut, however it came with the HSS version and I bought the SSS.

I wrestled for weeks between a 3-Tone Sunburst Deluxe Players Strat and an Olympic White American Standard. I finally settled on the American Standard then I saw the American Deluxe in Vintage White! The color with the pearloid pickguard was jaw dropping. I also love the design of the bridge! The stainless steel saddles and the solid steel tremolo arm without the plastic tip is a very clean presentation. The SCN pups and the S-1 switching system offers so many tonal expressions! The locking tuners makes stringing neat, simple and secure. The silver embossed logo on the headstock and abalone inlays are the touches that adds class and distinction.
