Hi there! I found a local offer and I'm wondering if this guitar is a legit Fender Stratocaster.
I'm meeting the owner in a couple of hours so I'm hoping for quick answers! :)

If it is legit, what is it worth?

Thanks!

I don't see anything there to start the alarm bells ringing, but there again there are not enough pictures to say definitively.

Where are you? Makes a difference to the value. I've seen new Japanese fenders going for between 6-900 gbp. I have a Japanese 62 custom tele from 1985-ish. The same guitar new in my local shop is about 750 gbp.

Whether you think an 80s Japan fender is worth more for its age is up to you.

How much is the guitar you're looking at? Try find out what they are new in your country and go from there. It certainly looks in very very good condition.

Thanks Moochy. The pictures were a bit better than the actual condition. It had a few scratches, some light dents and the toggle switch made some scratchy sounds but it seems to be all an original 72 reissue. (The link I posted earlier.)

I think I got a decent deal and I'll bring it to a luthier soon to find out how much it will cost to get it all fixed up.
