hi

i just build a new pickups EMG DG -20 on a new MIM , the sound is perfect in Clean no issue but i have a problem when i like to play with the Distortion , then the pickups start to buzz . i did try it with my 1 and 2 amplifiers, used differents cables but it s always the same even with my Motu ultarlite interface . my question if did someone already use these pickups ? and if there s one solution to stop this buzzing ? because it really disturbing . and thanks for the help . :)

What do you mean, the pups are buzzing? Do you mean that the pups themselves physically vibrate, or that you hear a noise from the amp?

Usually a buzz means you missed reattaching a ground wire.

What is the rest of your setup?
How are you getting your distortion sounds, and are the devices in the signal chain powered by battery or mains electricity?

Yes after I posted that I got a PRS Torero in for a Floyd Rose Set up and noticed they didnt have. Its all plug and play now days unlike when I used to use them in the 90s. I would say you probably have gotten a bad component in your set. You might wanna take it back or contact the shipper. Even contact EMG. If you bought this new Im sure its under warrenty.

Yes it wont hurt a thing every once in a while the neck may return differently but must of the time no.
If you notice any bow you can adjust the truss by eye and get it pretty close check it by playing each adjustment.

Strats are far from rocket science bro you will get it on the first or second try.

No man i doubt it will at all, I am sure you have nothing to worry about. I have left them off for longer with no problems.

ah thanks , i was really worred because i just did read in one other forum that it s not good to let the guitar without strings even for some days because the Neck get used to the pression and when you move the strings the neck could be deformed cause of the pression of the truss rod .
