Yes ... I feel the same way about my Strats. They have an incredible comfort to them. Like hugging an old friend.

Hi I_Ronin. Caongratulations on starting the 1st "I used to love LP's but now I turned to Strats" post. Indeed I also fall in this category. The wierd thing with me was that I actually fell for a MIM sunburst Classic series strat which was twice as difficult to play as my LP. The guitar had so many "issues" with fret buzz, too high action, a sticky neck and the volume pot in the wrong place, but it had a soul that I could not understand and obvously not resist. I have since grown to respect this guitar its unique personality and character. I have grown to love this guitar so much that my LP is lying in it's case most of the time now.
The guitarist that has found that one guitar that speaks to him/her in more areas than just tone and feel has really found a companion. Congratulations, it seems that you fall in this category.

Carstens,
I could not have said it better myself :D
Besides tone & comfort a guitar does indeed have character and the bond between the player and the guitar is an important one for both need to work with each other to achieve total harmony.

To all I am extremely flattered at the warm welcome I have received on this forum. Thank you all once more for your inspiration and your kind words! I have one more question to ask and it may seem nOObish of me to ask, but how do I upload pictures on the forum. I would love to post some pics of my beautiful Strat?

Greetings Strat users!!! :D
I recently went to my local music store to have some minor work done on my Les Paul, while I've never been a fan of Fender I found myself starting sardonically at this Candy Apple Red 48th street special custom Fat Strat with a SSH setup. I picked up this beautiful Strat and started to Jam on it and I was blown away at how versatile this Strat is. I was able to play everything from Metal, Rock and Blues my three favorite styles of music. Let's just say I ended up going home with a new guitar on this day. Now riddle me this Strat users, why is it that I find myself playing this $400 Strat more and more over my high end Gibson’s models. My Strat is so comfortable to play and it inspires me to play more and more. I would never have taught I would some day own a Fender. I will be purchasing a Deluxe SSH American Strat in the coming weeks. I would like to welcome myself to your wonderful community here at Fender and feel free to gloat as to why I am not playing my Gibson’s  It is a question I still can't answer myself.

Hi I_Ronin,

I used to be the proud owner of a black '73 Gibson Les Paul Classic Custom with the double diamond inlays in the headstock. My earliest guitar influences were Ace Frehley, Ted Nugent, Jimmy Page and early Jeff Beck before he switched to the Strat. After High School I got into blues. Nothing like poverty and Jimi Hendrix to inspire the blues

To me there is nothing like the crisp chimes of the single coil pups. I have to have a tremolo. The Strat fits me much better than the Les Paul ever did. And with the Strat I can reproduce the sounds that fill my mind better than any other guitar.

Greetings Manabu,
Its good meeting another Hendrix fan. I've always been a fan of Hendrix, but originally I am keyboardist by trade and picked up the guitar about 7months ago and this is truly when I really found a connection to Hendrix and his music and The Blues 8) While I have always been a die hard metal head and still am  I find myself going in a different musical direction with the guitar. I have fallen in love with The Blues and find myself listening to Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, BB King and Hendrix to name a few and while I will always have my Gibson’s in my guitar collection I feel the same when you state the sounds a Strat reproduces expresses what I am feeling when I play. All the best to you my brother!
