Greetings Strat users!!! :D
I recently went to my local music store to have some minor work done on my Les Paul, while I've never been a fan of Fender I found myself starting sardonically at this Candy Apple Red 48th street special custom Fat Strat with a SSH setup. I picked up this beautiful Strat and started to Jam on it and I was blown away at how versatile this Strat is. I was able to play everything from Metal, Rock and Blues my three favorite styles of music. Let's just say I ended up going home with a new guitar on this day. Now riddle me this Strat users, why is it that I find myself playing this $400 Strat more and more over my high end Gibson’s models. My Strat is so comfortable to play and it inspires me to play more and more. I would never have taught I would some day own a Fender. I will be purchasing a Deluxe SSH American Strat in the coming weeks. I would like to welcome myself to your wonderful community here at Fender and feel free to gloat as to why I am not playing my Gibson’s  It is a question I still can't answer myself.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Fender.

And to answer your question: Fate, it's just Fate.

Congrats man! You've discovered that the strat is the most versitle solid body guitar ever made. Most of us like LP's, but we know our strats can do so much more and feel so much better to play. It's inspiring isn't it?

And, a really nice playing and sounding Strat doesn't cost anywhere near what even a mediocre playing and sounding LP costs.

Welcome, and ride the wave!

Greetings to all!
I would like to thank you all for your warm welcome to your wonderful Strat community and for your kind words.

With that said, I strongly believe that fate did indeed bring me to my beautiful Strat as fate has in the past brought me to most of the guitars I own. I have no problems with LP's I own two as well as an SG and they will forever be in my collection, but I've really fallen in love with my Strat and see it being my main go to guitar for most of my projects. This guitar has provided me with so much inspiration and I can't seem to put it down. I wish I would have know sooner what Fender was capable of, instead I was listening to my friends who would make statements "You can't do metal on a Strat, Strat tone sucks etc..etc.." I am sure you guys have heard it all. Viva la Strat!!!

Welcome. I myself was a ten year die hard gibson player, now I'm down to just one I kept my es 135 so I could have a semi hollow when needed, other than that I've gone full strat. Mostly because it fits my own music more and for some reason the tones just seems more clear and like Clapton I just can't seem to get over how well the neck plays. I always dismissed it because I did,'t like the way they looked and I thought I would never like single coils tone but man I can't get enough of the versitility of this guitar

my freind. Welcome to the family. I can sum it up for you real easy...

You have picked up the thing Legends were made on...a strat is an icon for a reason :P They live up to their name and are far more cost efficient than gibsons.

Yep, I know where you are coming from- another die hard Gibson fan for over 40 years -it was actually an $85 Squier Strat that got me hooked -still have it (see my sig). I then bought an '02 MIM 70's RI and I just love it. Looking to add a Tele someday soon. Helppppp I can't stop myself! I've fallen under the "Strat Mojo" spell!!!!

Welcome indeed. Strats are great guitars, and my favorite above all others.

I was a die-hard metal guitar player from the 80's, and every other style sucked to me. Give me a Jackson and a JCM800 and I was in heaven. Until I started to listen to other music more and heard strat tones. I just had to get those tasty in-between sounds, that strat quack hooked me. I picked up a 94 MIM and never looked back. I've had a number of other strats, but still have the 94, and my 98 MIA has been through hell and back with me and is like part of me now. I pick it up and I dont' even think of what to play, ideas just flow right out without any thought, and I can do that all day and night (and have). I actually have a strat tattoo on the back of my neck.

Enjoy yours, it's a cult, but a good fun one :)

welcome in the strat world.

Yep, it's the tone, handling and price. I own some other guitars but
my Strat is the No 1. If I have some ideas or want to exercise something I take automaticly my Strat.

It's simply love to this guitar :D
